What the angels and swots did when not going to Prize Day! The fantastic drawings are from Pete Clements, 'Pop Group Hangman' from Mike James. The last photo is from Paul Russell, and he explains all!

Taken a year or so after leaving you can we all turned out well. Some of us can be seen here frightening off the skin'eads! This again from Paul Russells archive, and what he recalls of the day....

.... most hideous photo was taken in front of the (Kent?) pub on the corner of Eton road and overlooking the Clock tower.

Rich was recently coiffeured in readiness for employment with Her Majesty's maritime forces and wearing a jacket I managed to con him into buying for £5. It was crimson velvet (really) and bought from Cants Menswear in the high street. The white strides were his own fashion statement.

Rob on the left was looking sartorially elegant in a carefully mismatched creation and Phil was like the boy you could take home to mum, but check out his stacked soles.

I kept to a lovely brown shirt with gold patterning, which, had it not been for sun bleaching in Cants window would've cost me more than the £3 I paid. NB: some license has been used guessing prices and colours after the intervening 30 odd years.

.... taken by one of those street cameramen that used to walk along the seafront during the summer holidays. Hard to believe you'd see that now, it's a sign of the times!  There also used to be a guy with a MONKEY near the toddlers amusements on the sand. You could have a pic taken with said monkey and reminisce about glorious holidays in Margate when you got old!

(Like now you mean!)
